Accelerating Food Systems Transformation for People, Nature and Climate

The event, organized in partnership with Climate Champions Team and Just Rural Transition, took place on September 24 during Food Day at Climate Week New York City. It brought together global leaders and experts to discuss accelerating transformation in food production and distribution, following the Food Systems Call to Action launched at COP28. Key discussions focused on the upcoming global conventions—UNCBD COP16, UNFCCC COP29, and UNCCD COP16—highlighting the urgent need for multi-stakeholder collaboration to tackle emissions, water use, and biodiversity loss. Speakers emphasized the crucial role of farmers and cross-sector partnerships in driving sustainable change for people, nature, and the climate.
